registrar re‧gis‧trar [ˌredʒˈstrɑː◂ ǁ ˈredʒstrɑːr] noun [countable] JOBS FINANCE
the person whose duty is to record changes in the people who own the shares of a company. The registrar is usually someone who works for the company:

• The Companies Act provides for registrars to give complete shareholder lists to persons on payment of a fee.

   The body responsible for keeping a record of the company's shareholders. When securities are dealt in book entry form and no certificates are issued, it is particularly important to have an accurate list of shareholders.
